SY Workforce Hub Quarterly Highlights Report (April - June 24)

Allied Health Professionals

The AHP Faculty has continued to deliver existing workstreams on the AHP Support Workforce and AHP pre-preceptorship and preceptorship whilst simultaneously working to develop a delivery plan for 24/25. The plan incorporates National and Northeast and Yorkshire AHP Workforce Transformation and Education Priorities alongside South Yorkshire specific agendas. The faculty has worked closely with the AHP Council, South Yorkshire Chief/Directors of AHPs and Principal Occupational Therapists to ensure the plan aligns to the workforce needs of all South Yorkshire AHPs.

Work on existing workstreams has seen the faculty deliver on:

Support Workforce

Membership of the AHP Support Workforce Forum continues to grow with network members from acute trust, mental health trusts and local authority actively engaging. The forum is led by an AHP Support Worker with direction set by network members. To connect with the forum please contact katie.ellis7@nhs.net, this is “Your forum, Your voice”.

Do you know we have a monthly SWAY Newsletter, promoting, engaging, and educating the South Yorkshire AHP Support Workforce and the teams they work with.

Preceptorship

Work on preceptorship is progressing. Utilising intelligence from our NHS organisations a system action plan has been devised. Priorities have been to establish a South Yorkshire AHP Preceptorship Working Group to continue the cross organisational work and generate ownership, shared purpose and achievement for all stakeholder participants.

Greener AHP

The AHP Faculty hosted four third year Diagnostic Radiography students on Leadership Placements earlier this year. The students worked on the Greener AHP agenda and supported the AHP Council Sustainability Community of Practice. The outputs of the project were shared on a national platform during Greener AHP Week 2024. The link to the student presentation is here
