This virtual gathering brought together 185 colleagues from across South Yorkshire’s health and social care, public sector, voluntary and community sector (VCSE), and partner organisations to share progress, learning, and next steps on our collective anti-racism journey.

The South Yorkshire Anti-Racism Assembly was a space to connect people and organisations working to challenge racism and promote equity.  Together, we shared what is working, discussed common challenges, and explored opportunities to collaborate across sectors.  The Assembly was part of building a sustainable, transparent, and inclusive approach to anti-racism across South Yorkshire. It was an opportunity to provide a visible platform to reflect on progress since the November 2024 Assembly, with a focus on collaboration and learning.  It supported organisations with their anti-racism journeys and learnt from others tackling racism in different contexts. It strengthen partnerships between sectors and communities and identified shared priorities for future system-wide action

What attendees expected:

Updates and learning from organisations across different sectors in South Yorkshire

Examples of practical action and positive change

Discussion on challenges, barriers, and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration
