Paediatrics is an area of medicine that investigates and assesses medical conditions that affect infants, children and young people.

The paediatrics network brings together specialists across different areas of expertise - such as doctors, social care services and paediatricians (a medical role with a hospital working with children from birth to the age of 16). The aim is to provide appropriate treatment that considers the child's overall wellbeing and personal circumstances, alongside the medical needs.

In South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, we have done a lot of work in areas such as improving waiting list times, accessing care during COVID-19, fostering improved relationships and offering mutual aid across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw partners.
