Christmas cheer was delivered to patients and their families on a hospital unit in Rotherham, thanks to youngsters from a primary school choir.

The St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Choir, from Herringthorpe, visited patients at The Woodlands, Moorgate, which is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), and provides care for people aged over 65, who are in need of acute care for mental health problems, including dementia.

They were attending the Carol Service led by RDaSH Chaplain Father Andy Graydon, and entertained patients with Christmas carols and songs, before wishing them all a Merry Christmas.

RDaSH’s Tracey Green, a re-ablement worker at The Woodlands, who organised the event, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to the children and staff from St Mary’s for visiting us. They sang beautifully and our patients are still talking about what a wonderful time they had!”
