Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), will be a hosting a pair of events later this month and next, showcasing the wide range of career prospects that exist within the healthcare sector, as well as the various educational routes that are available.

Organised in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), the day-long fayres will be split between the Trust’s sites at Doncaster and Bassetlaw. The event at the latter hospital will take place first on Thursday 26 March – lasting from 8:45am to 6pm – and will feature representation from numerous organisations, including local education providers as well as Trust clinical staff.

Called ‘Your Future in Healthcare’, the day will be suitable for anyone who is interested in finding out more about jobs in the NHS and the relevant study options. The first half of the day will be reserved for schools and colleges, who have already received an invitation.

Following an introductory workshop, attendees will visit the The Hub at Bassetlaw Hospital, where there will be stands covering everything from student finance, to admissions, university study, apprenticeship schemes, work experience and much more. Once these slots are concluded at 4:30pm, the exhibition room will then open up to the rest of the public interested in kick-starting a career within the NHS.

Speaking about the upcoming events Dr Sam Debbage, Deputy Director of Education and Research at the Trust, said:  ‘’Career pathways in health and social care are broader than most people realise and this exhibition is all about highlighting that. Whether you’re a school pupil interested in seeing how you can fulfil your aspirations, a mature learner looking for a career change, or even a current member of staff looking to develop, there will be something here that is relevant for you.’’
