The Macmillan Living With and Beyond Cancer programme has hosted a Share and Learn Workshop in Sheffield, attended by around 30 people working within the programme across the localities.
The event began with an update from the Macmillan Living With and Beyond Cancer Programme Lead Richard Metcalfe.
Richard was followed by Sarah Allen, Senior Evidence Officer (England) at Macmillan Cancer Support who launched the programme monitoring and evaluation framework.
Delegates then listened to a presentation from Helen Highly and Sam Frost from programme evaluation partner Bright Purpose.
Helen and Sam gave insight into the programme work around Living With Cancer, which has been taking place across the localities with people affected by cancer and professionals.
During the event, the group also had the chance to discuss locality issues and challenges around three key areas; primary care engagement, the programme communications and engagement strategy and living with cancer – next steps.
Richard said: “With implementation underway in all localities across the Macmillan Living With and Beyond Cancer programme, the share and learn workshop was a valuable opportunity for people involved with the programme to come together to discuss key issues, challenges and best practice.
“It was great to hear so much discussion and idea sharing, particularly in the table top conversations. We’re looking forward to holding similar events in future.”
