In a move to establish one shared care record platform for all of South Yorkshire, the Rotherham Health Record (RHR) was phased out in spring/summer 2026.
This follows the closing down of the Integrated Doncaster Care Record (IDCR) in March 2025. In their place, the Yorkshire and Humber Care Record (YHCR) is now firmly established, linking up health and social care records for patients across the whole region.
Work began to move all existing RHR users over to the YHCR in February 2026.
An interim period between February and July 2026 saw access to the RHR maintained while all data feeds were completed in the YHCR.
The move to a single platform is set to bring significant benefits. Users can access information from health and care organisations across Yorkshire and Humber in the YHCR. It will also save on duplication of resources, spending money on different systems attempting to do the same thing. This will free up resource to make the YHCR as useful, relevant and comprehensive as possible to all the local system partners.
